5m Publishing works with authors to create sustainable agriculture and aquaculture, animal health and welfare literature.

They began in 1997 with the publication of the seminal title ‘Managing Pig Health and the Treatment of Disease’.  As well as publications, 5m Publishing has launched a number of agriculture and aquaculture websites, directly delivering industry relevant news direct.

The second edition of ‘Managing Pig Health’ was published in 2013 and marked the start of an expansion to the book publishing program.  This book embodies the ethical stance of 5m, focusing as it does on the health and welfare of the animal.  The publisher believes in a sustainable future for food production and their books reflect this.

In 2012 5m took over the Nottingham University Press list which includes a number of veterinary titles.  In 2014 it bought Old Pond Publishing, this list includes books for farming smallholders and farm and other machinery enthusiasts. 5m Publishing and its imprints have an active publishing program in all areas of agricultural sciences, from veterinary titles to animal identification guides and from to modern and antique farm equipment to transportation vehicles.
